CPRG Eagles won the SW Houston Junior Team Tennis League in Fall of 2009. The team went to John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels and won the Sectional championship which was held on November 19 to 21.  The CPRG Eagles beat all teams in the first round and went on to beat the team from Dallas in the finals.  The team members were: Ren an Mirto of Austin HS (FBISD), Paul Nguyen and Remish Halini of Kempner HS, Michele Wo, Amanda Fernando, and Amanda Teiu of Kempner HS. Alex Valdez and Conrad Valdez of Austin HS were the other members of the team, but couldn't make it to New Braunfels.  Alex "AJ" Valdez, a HS senior, had a scheduled campus visit at Mary-Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas. Conrad, the younger brother, could not play due to USTA rules technicality.  I am proud of you all. Congratulations!

St. Theresa Catholic School (STCS) Tennis Program… Mr. Jonathan Beeson, principal at St. Theresa Catholic School principal, welco med the proposal and took immediate action to start a tennis program at their school.  I am glad to learn that some parents were delighted to have tennis as one of the sports being introduced st STCS. Even from a pool of only Pre-K, K and First grade students, a total of 13 children signed up.  Thanks to the parents and a few grandparents who volunteered, we had a very good introductory tennis program last Fall.  Some tennis talents from St. Theresa CS are now lined up to be future stars!  Kudos to all.
